AKINSANYA, AJAYI, IWUAGWU, DAN-OLOGE AND ODUBIYI EMERGE DEANS AS ADEJOBI BECOMES PIONEER DEAN OF THE NEW SCHOOL OF ECCE & PED
Every four (4) years marks the end of the tenure of a Dean in the College, and also marks the begining of the reign of another Dean. As it is within the system of the government, a position is attained by election, and so also it is with institutions. This year ends the tenure of the Deans in the College. Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta formely consists of (5) Schools namely: School of Arts and social sciences, School of Education, School of Languages, School of Science, and the School of Vocational Education. Lately, a new school has been created from the school of Education to make six (6) schools in the whole Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta. The new schools are: School of Arts and social sciences, School of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, School of Education, School of Languages, School of Science, and School of Vocational Education. The Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta has concluded the elections of Deans for the new six (6) Schools present in the College, held between Monday 24th and Wednesday 26th August, 2020.
NAME OF NEW ELECTED DEANS
1. Mrs Taiwo Adedayo Akinsanya - Dean Schools of Arts and Social Sciences
2. Mr A. O. Ajayi - Dean General Education (formerly School of Education)
3. Mrs Stella Ifeyinwa Chibuzo Iwuagwu - Dean School of Languages
4. Dr Adebowale Iyabo Dan – Ologe - School of Sciences and;
5. Mr James Abiodun Odubiyi - Dean, School of Vocational Education
These are the New Elected Deans that emerged victorious in their various Schools, while:
6. Mrs A.O Adejobi - becomes pioneer Dean of the yet to take off School of Early Childhood Care Education and Primary Education.
NAMES OF CONTESTANTS FOR THE DEANSHIP POST IN ALL 6 SCHOOLS
The School of Arts and Social Sciences had three (3) Contestants
i. Mrs T. A Akinsanya
ii. Dr T. O. Salaudeen and;
iii. Dr A. A Olorunsogo
The School of Vocational Education had two (2) contestants namely:
i. Mrs F. O Ogunwemimo and;
ii. Mr J. A Odubiyi
The School of Languages had two (2) contestants namely:
i. Mrs S. I. C Iwuagwu and;
ii. Dr P. E Ezenandu
The School of Sciences also had two contestants namely:
i. Dr I. A Mofikoya and;
ii. Dr A. I Dan Ologe.
The School of General Education presented a lone candidate
i. Mr Ayo Ajayi
Mr. Ayo Ajayi was elected without an opposition.
The School of Early Childhood Care and Primary Education which commences in the 2020/2021 Academic session had:
i. Mrs A.O Adejobi - as its pioneer Dean.
