RESUMPTION OF DUTY AT FCE ABEOKUTA

RESUMPTION OF DUTY FOR OFFICERS ON GL 12, 13 AND THOSE ON ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The management of Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta in compliance with the Federal Government directive has instructed all Staff affected by this directive to resume duty. The directive to "resume duty" has been mandated after the long halt to educational activities caused by the novel virus "COVID-19". Covid-19 is a virus that was first discovered in Wuhan, China. It has spread to Nigeria through an Italian man who visited the country in February, 2022. This made the virus spread to several states in Nigeria, including Ogun State which recorded several cases of coronavirus cases in various parts of Ogun State.
It is on record that at the initial occurrence of the COVID-19 Pandemic and following the directive of the Federal Government upon the recommendation of the Presidential Task Force, the College was closed/shutdown on Friday 27th March, 2020, whereby staff, students, workers and personnels in the College community were asked to halt every activities conducted in the College (except for the security and medical personnel). However, with the progress made by the Federal Government, State Government, Local Government and also by the College to combat the coronavirus pandemic, it is safe to say that work is gradually resuming in all Federal Government Ministries, Agencies and Departments which made the PTF recommend that workers on grade Level 12 and above resume back to their duty posts, with strict adherence to the safety protocols for COVID-19 (such as the social distancing guidelines, putting on the nose-mask, frequent washing and caring of the hands with hand sanitizers, proper covering when sneezing or yawning, and reporting anyone with illness or COVID-19 symptoms).

The College Management therefore has instructed Staff on CONTEDISS 11 and CONPCASS 05 and above to resume work with immediate effect from the 10th of August, 2020. This is not a drill..., resumption of educational activities has been activated.
In a Circular dated 12th August, 2020, from the Office of the Registrar and signed by Mr T. O Komolafe an Assistant Deputy Registrar in charge of Senior Staff Establishments, the Working days shall be Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Also, Staffers are mandated to strictly comply with the NCDC protocols of wearing of face masks, Social Distancing and use of Hands Sanitizers/washing of hands.
