About CUDEP

The Centre for Undergraduate Degree Programmes (CUDEP) (formerly Centre for Degree Programme (CUDEP) of the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta was established in December 2010 following a favourable assessment of the College's facilities by the University of Ibadan. A subsequent resource assessment was conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in March 2011.

The Centre admitted its first set of students, who were formally matriculated on 23 May 2013.

CUDEP is responsible for the administration of full-time degree programmes offered by the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta in affiliation with the University of Ibadan.

Mission

To provide comprehensive, high-quality teaching, instruction and training that produce highly motivated and skilled graduates who are worthy in character and sound in judgment.

Activities of the Directorate

CUDEP operates within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta and the University of Ibadan, together with relevant regulations of the National Universities Commission.

The Centre coordinates admission into:

• Four-year degree programmes for candidates entering at 100 Level through UTME.

• Three-year degree programmes for qualified NCE holders entering at 200 Level through Direct Entry.

The Centre's academic facilitators are drawn from qualified academic personnel from institutions including the University of Ibadan, Tai Solarin University of Education, the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, and other recognised institutions. The College Registry also provides administrative personnel to support the operations of the Centre.

Admission into Full-Time Degree Programmes

The Centre for Undergraduate Degree Programmes, Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, in affiliation with the University of Ibadan, admits suitably qualified candidates into its full-time degree programmes.

Four-Year Degree Programme

The four-year programme is designed primarily for candidates seeking admission through UTME.

Candidates are generally expected to possess the required O'Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, with the required number of relevant subjects obtained in one or two sittings, subject to the specific requirements of the chosen programme.

Candidates should also satisfy the relevant UTME and subject requirements applicable to their proposed course of study.

UTME Requirement

For the admission information contained in the original notice, candidates who sat for UTME and obtained a score of 200 or above were eligible to apply.

Three-Year Degree Programme

The three-year degree programme is intended for candidates who have successfully completed the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and are seeking admission through JAMB Direct Entry.

Applicants are expected to:

• Possess an NCE qualification.

• Meet the relevant O'Level requirements.

• Obtain the appropriate JAMB Direct Entry form for the admission year.

• Meet the minimum grade and subject requirements prescribed for the proposed programme.

• Satisfy the applicable University of Ibadan and JAMB Direct Entry requirements.

Application Procedure

The application procedure contained in the original admission notice involved the following steps:

1. Visit the CUDEP admission portal at https://degree.merkovsolution.com/instruction

2. Complete the required biodata and application information.

3. Pay the prescribed non-refundable application fee through the designated payment platform.

4. Complete the online application form by entering the required academic results.

5. Upload a suitable passport photograph in the required format and size.

6. Carefully review all information entered before making the final submission.

7. Print the completed application form and retain copies of the relevant documents.

8. Submit the required hard copy documents to the CUDEP Administrative Office after registration is completed.

Important Application Instructions

Applicants should:

• Provide accurate and complete information.

• Use functional telephone numbers and email addresses.

• Carefully review their information before final submission.

• Avoid making the final submission until all information has been checked.

• Follow the specified requirements for passport photographs and uploaded documents.

• Keep evidence of payment and application printouts for future reference.

Post-UTME Screening

UTME candidates may be required to participate in a Post-UTME screening or examination exercise. The date, time and other arrangements for the screening exercise are communicated to applicants through the contact details provided during registration and through official CUDEP communication channels.

Candidates attending a screening exercise should ordinarily come with:

• Application/registration printout.

• Relevant academic credentials.

• Evidence of application/payment.

• Any other documents specifically requested by the Centre.

Successful candidates are communicated through the channels specified by the Centre, while applicants are advised to monitor official admission announcements for the release of admission lists.

Clearance and Acceptance Fee for Admitted Candidates

Candidates who have been offered admission should complete the required clearance and payment procedures within the period specified by CUDEP.

The procedure contained in the original notice was as follows:

Step 1 — Accept JAMB Admission

Candidates should accept their admission offer on JAMB CAPS and print their JAMB Admission Letter.

Step 2 — Proceed for Clearance

Candidates should proceed to the CUDEP Administrative Office with their required credentials for verification and clearance.

The documents listed in the original notice included:

• JAMB Admission Letter

• JAMB Change of Institution Slip (where applicable)

• O'Level result

• UTME result or Direct Entry (DE) Registration Slip

• NCE result (where applicable)

Step 3 — Pay Acceptance Fee

After clearance, candidates should proceed to the appropriate Accounts Office to make payment of the acceptance fee, a non-refundable fee of ₦25,000.

Step 4 — Obtain School-Fee Clearance

After payment of the acceptance fee, candidates should return to the CUDEP Administrative Office with their payment evidence to obtain clearance for school-fee payment.

Step 5 — Pay School Fees

Candidates who have received the necessary clearance should proceed to make payment of the applicable school fees according to the instructions issued by the Centre.

Clearance Notice

CUDEP notice stated that clearance for fresh students begins after date of resumption is announced or communicated, with lectures scheduled to commence immediately.
