NOTE: PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES

All 100-level students (fresh students) are required to pay their school fees before Matriculation Day. Payment should be made through the designated school payment portal:

Students are advised to complete their payment early and keep their payment receipts or evidence of payment for future reference. Payment of school fees is also important because some other registration processes cannot be completed until the required fees have been paid.

IMPORTANT FOR 100-LEVEL STUDENTS

1. COURSE FORM

All 100-level students—and I repeat, all 100-level students—must make sure that their course registration form is completed before Matriculation Day.

Before course registration can be completed, students are required to have paid their school fees. After payment, students should proceed to the ICT Centre or any other designated registration centre approved by the College administration to complete their course form/registration.

It has been observed that some fresh students fail to register for their course form/registration every year. Failure to complete course registration can create serious academic and administrative problems and may affect the student's academic progress. In some cases, students may face deferment or other consequences.

Therefore, do not assume that course registration is optional. Make sure your course form is properly registered and obtain evidence of registration for your records. If you are unsure about the process, contact your department, HOC, ICT Centre, or other designated College officials for guidance.

2. ACCEPTANCE ON JAMB CAPS WEBSITE

JAMB CAPS is one of the first important platforms that every fresh student should check after receiving admission from both JAMB and the College.

Students should log in to the JAMB CAPS platform and accept their admission when admission is given by Jamb on JAMB CAPS website. After accepting the admission, students should print their JAMB admission letter, including the required original and duplicate copies.

Students are encouraged to keep these documents safe because they may be required during clearance, registration, or other administrative processes.

3. HOC (HEAD OF CLASS)

HOC, meaning Head of Class, refers to the student leader responsible for coordinating students within a particular class, course, or department.

HOCs help facilitate communication between students and lecturers, departmental representatives, and other relevant authorities. They may also help organize class activities, communicate important announcements, and assist students with information concerning academic activities.

Fresh students should maintain contact with their HOC because the HOC can be an important source of departmental, classroom, and general academic information (i.e. examination/lecture timetables).

4. HOD (HEAD OF DEPARTMENT)

The Head of Department (HOD) is responsible for overseeing the activities and administration of a particular department. Students may contact their departmental representatives or relevant departmental authorities when they need clarification on departmental matters.

The Dean is the overall head of a particular school or faculty within the College. For example, information and activities relating to a particular school may be coordinated through the Dean's office.

Students should understand the difference between the HOD and Dean and follow the appropriate administrative channel whenever they need to resolve academic or departmental issues.

5. SUG (STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT)

The Student Union Government (SUG) is a student organization that represents students and helps coordinate student-related activities within the institution.

The SUG may serve as a channel through which students communicate concerns, participate in student activities, and become involved in matters affecting the student community. Fresh students are encouraged to learn about the SUG and understand how it operates within the College.

6. CLUBS AND SOCIETIES

There are various clubs, societies, and student organizations within the College community that students can participate in. Examples include Man O' War, Red Cross, ACPC, and other approved student groups.

Clubs and societies provide opportunities for students to participate in socio-cultural, leadership, educational, recreational, and community-oriented activities. Students are encouraged to participate responsibly in responsible organizations that match their interests while ensuring that their academic responsibilities remain a priority.

IMPORTANT ADVICE TO ALL FRESH STUDENTS

As a new student, always seek accurate information and avoid relying solely on rumours or information from unofficial sources. Keep your receipts, admission documents, course registration documents, and other important records safely.
