NCE POST-UTME SCREENING SCHEDULE FOR APPLICANTS
The Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Ogun State, announced the schedule for the NCE Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2020/2021 academic session. The screening exercise was organized as part of the College's admission process for prospective candidates seeking admission into its Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes.
The admission exercise was conducted during a period when educational activities in Nigeria and many other parts of the world had been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic caused widespread disruption to academic calendars, resulting in the suspension of physical educational activities for several months. Consequently, the Post-UTME screening process for the 2020/2021 session experienced delays and other challenges.
As educational institutions gradually resumed normal activities, the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta made efforts to conduct its screening exercise while giving priority to the health and safety of applicants, students and staff.
COVID-19 Safety Measures at the College
Because the screening exercise took place during the COVID-19 period, candidates were required to comply with established health and safety measures. The College emphasized the importance of social distancing and other COVID-19 preventive protocols throughout the screening process.
Candidates were instructed to appear at the College only on the date assigned to their application numbers. This arrangement was intended to reduce overcrowding and allow the screening process to take place in a more organized manner.
Applicants were also required to come with face masks and observe other recommended protective measures. Candidates were advised to take the instructions seriously and cooperate with officials responsible for conducting the screening.
Applicants who were unable to attend on their originally assigned date were permitted to report under the category marked “OTHERS.”
The College also stated that Post-UTME registration was still open to candidates who had not yet completed their applications. Prospective applicants were therefore encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to register and participate in the admission exercise.

About the College
The Federal College of Education, Abeokuta offers both three-year Full-Time NCE programmes and five-year Sandwich programmes, leading to the award of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
The institution has its foundation dating back to 27 January 1977, when the first group of 86 students was formally registered. This registration took place after approximately four months of preparatory activities, which included the mobilization of staff and the provision and assembly of necessary equipment and facilities.
The establishment of the College formed part of the Federal Government's educational development plans contained in the 1976/1977 estimates, which provided for the establishment of Advanced Teachers Colleges in Abeokuta and other locations.
Over the years, the institution has continued to develop its academic structure and expand its educational programmes.
