FCE OFFICIALLY OPENS ORACLE BUILDING FOR CHEIF LECTURERS

COLLEGE MANGEMENT OFFICIALLY OPENS "ORACLE BUILDING" AS OCCUPANTS RECEIVE KEYS

Monday, 28th September 2020 was a remarkable and memorable day at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta as the Oracle Building was officially opened by the College Management and keys handed over to the euphoric Chief Lecturers, who were occupants of the Building. The word "Oracle" is commonly used by members of the College community to describe chief lectures with reasonable years of experience on the campus.
It would be recalled that on the Provost’s assumption of office in 2012, one of his cardinal objectives was staff welfare and all through his two terms of four years each, this had been his major concern. With TETFund intervention, the Provost, Dr Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi had been able to cater for staffers’ needs ranging from office spaces, office furniture items, manpower resources, relatively stable power supply (Stepping down of 33KVA in the College and alternate power supply), laptops for all senior staff, conducive working environment for staffers, good landscaping around buildings on Campus and spacious parking spaces to mention but a few.
As part of the Provost’s welfare package for the comfort of both Teaching and Non Teaching Staff of the College, the Construction and furnishing of a 34-room office complex became imperative. The Office Complex constructed for Thirty four (34) Chief Lecturers of the College is popularly called “the Oracle Building.” This building, which is the newest on Campus, was beautifully constructed for easy academic activities like research works and article writing.
Gracing the event were the Provost, Dr A. A Ajayi; Deputy Provost, Dr R. A Soyele; Registrar, Dr G. A Adebayo; the College Librarian, Dr G. O Oyewole; Bursar, Mr. O. A Alabi and occupants of the Oracle edifice.

The opening of the oracle building will also give support to Chief lecturers who will vacate their former office space and relocate to the new office space for comfort in carrying out educational activities. Old offices and new vacant spaces will therefore be utilized by junior lecturers and vacant offices will give room for other educational activities which require more space.
