FCE ABEOKUTA (VOC. EDUCATION) SENDS OFF STAFFS

The Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta, School of Vocational Education on Wednesday, 2nd September, 2020 sent off the trio of Mr T.O Oluwaniran, Mrs S.A James and Dr F.A.O Akinnusi, after attaining the Federal Government stipulated age of Sixty five (65) years and launched a book titled “LEGACY” in their honour.
The trio from the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta, School of Vocational Education, departments of Business Education, Home Economics and Agricultural Science Education were given a befitting sendoff ceremony which was held at the new School of Vocational Educational hall. The event which drew eminent personalities within and outside the College also had a Book launch "titled LEGACY" in their honour.
The Provost, Dr A.A Ajayi while declaring the Ceremony opened appreciated everyone present saying that the trio during their service years contributed immensely to the College. He added that the School of Vocational Education had actually done the needful for the retirees and therefore thanked the Local Organising Committee for a job well done.
Earlier, the Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Mrs Roseline Adebayo and the Dean School of Vocational Education in their separate addresses appreciated everyone present at the event noting that the retirees had come, seen and conquered; adding that they deserved to be honoured and celebrated indeed. They thereafter prayed that the retirees would live long to enjoy the fruits of their labours.
The Book reviewer, Dr P.E Ezenandu of English Department, having done justice to it was unveiled by the Provost, Dr A.A Ajayi. Thereafter, goodwill messages were welcomed from the immediate past COEASU Chairman, Comrade Akin Akinyele and a Chief Lecturer from the Business Education Department, Dr O.A Abati both of whom poured encomiums on the retirees and wished them a blissful retirement.

The event of the day served as an encouragement, both to the current staff and the undergraduate students of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta, and to other staff and students of any other institution, to persevere and believe in God for progress and support in life, and for every blessed position attained. Every good turn deserves another "they say". The retirees have done well and they deserve to be be applauded and celebrated; and so shall it be for everyone who is diligent in his or her work or in whatever their hands finds to do.
